TEXAS -- The Airports Council International World announced the winners of the 2017 Airport Service Quality Awards on Tuesday.

Out of the 48 different airports in the North American category, the San Antonio International Airport and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport tied for third place along with six other airports.

Each year the awards are given to the airports around the globe that demonstrate commitment to providing an excellent customer experience.

The Airport Service Quality Awards is the only worldwide program to survey passengers at the airport on the day of their travel. The program measures passengers’ views of 34 key performance areas including airport access, check-in, security screening, restrooms, stores, restaurants and passenger comments on their best and worst experiences at an airport.
