SELMA, Texas – A 26-year-old man has been charged with the aggravated sexual assault of a 13-year-old.

Schertz resident James Furlow was arrested on Feb. 7 after allegations of his involvement with an underage female.

According to the affidavit, the mother noticed her 13-year-old daughter gaining weight and made her take a pregnancy test, which tested positive.

On Jan. 28, Selma police were called after the teen admitted that she had been sexually active with a man she met online over the summer.

During a forensic interview with the teen, she revealed that Furlow had come to her house while she was alone and demanded she let him in. After repeatedly asking him to leave, Furlow entered the house and pressured her to engage in sexual activity, states the affidavit.

Furlow was booked at the Guadalupe County Jail and then transferred to the Bexar County Jail on Feb. 12.

Selma detectives said they anticipate more charges to be filed against Furlow in the next few weeks.

Since this is an ongoing investigation, officials will not release more information until additional charges are filed.
