AUSTIN, Texas -- Thousands of Pro-Life marchers made their way through the streets of downtown Austin for the Texas Rally for Life.

The event occurred just a week after protester's marched for women's rights, as opposing protesters marched for life.

"Pro-life marches are women's marches,” said marcher Thad Cardine.

From the older generations to the even the youngest, thousands flooded downtown Austin, marching to the Capitol condemning abortion.

"There are so many people that think people are inconvenient, but life is worth living,” said another protestor.

The Texas Rally for Life brings out Texans from all over the state. The march is always held during the anniversary month of Roe v. Wade. This year marks 45 years since the Supreme Court's decision in 1973.

"Ultimately, we need to go back to the Supreme Court decision and reverse it, but with each step we take, we are getting close to that,” said Cardine.

"It's important for us to come out and support this cause so that we know we are not alone, sometimes we think that we are the only pro-life voice out there,” said Marita Muras.

The rain didn’t stop the marchers, even clearing up as they made it to the Capitol.

"God always shines on protecting innocent life and so we have sunshine today. We will continue to defend the unborn. Working together we will keep Texas the most pro-life state in the United States of America,” said Gov. Greg Abbott.

For anti-abortion marchers, they hope this symbolic walk to the statehouse means another step forward for pro-life legislation.
