SAN ANTONIO — A man is dead after being fatally stabbed during an argument Monday on the city's South Side.

According to police, the incident was reported around 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 1050 block of Gillette Boulevard.

The 60-year-old man, identified as Ernest Albert Flores Jr., is in custody after stabbing the 20-year-old male in the chest with a large kitchen knife. He told police he did so in self-defense. 

Officials said the suspect is a resident who lives at the complex and had recently have a female move in with her three kids — the eldest being the victim of the stabbing.

At this time, police will not release the name of the victim until next of kin is notified.

Flores has been charged with murder and is being held on a bond of $125,000.
