SAN MARCOS, Texas – A student is facing consequences after discharging a bullet without a weapon at a San Marcos middle school on Monday.

During 8^th grade lunch, a student reportedly brought a singular bullet to the courtyard of Goodnight Middle School. The bullet was discharged by the student who rubbed the bullet on the concrete ground until it went off.

A loud sound could be heard across the courtyard, but no one was injured.

Parents are encouraged to keep an eye on the items students bring to school to ensure their safety on campus.
