SAN ANTONIO --  A new campaign is changing the lives of young women in San Antonio and girls around the world.

"For me it's always been about the community here and when you live someplace you want to make it better, you want to do something for the immediate community," said Emily Strayer, Dixie Chicks founding member and BEforlove partner.

It didn't take much convincing for Strayer to team up with jewelry designer Lee Ann Jones.

Jones was looking for a way to give back and make a difference. With a little creativity, the #BEforlove campaign got off the ground.

"Each design in the BE series will benefit a different charity, this is the first one, BEforlove," Jones said. "Emily and I worked really hard to pick charities that we thought would benefit young women."

The two charities are Girls Inc. of San Antonio and Komera in Rwanda.

"We want girls healthy, educated, and independent,” said Lea Rosenauer, Girls Inc. of San Antonio President and CEO. “We want girls engaged, having a strong support system, but in a girl only safe space with positive female role models, with mentors who are interested in the girls and can inspire them to become whatever they want to become."

"We're trying to think globally, but really hit here at home as well," said Strayer.
