SAN ANTONIO - After months of local and state recruitment efforts, California-based streaming service provider Hulu has officially set up shop in San Antonio.

Local leaders said it'll be a big economic boost for the area.

Hulu looked at 23 cities for its Viewer Experience Operations Headquarters, but officials said the Alamo City was always near the top of the list.  By the end of 2018, more than 500 people are expected to join the Hulu team in San Antonio.

"It's 500 high paying jobs, but it's really what will happen as an incubator. How will that domino effect continue to grow in San Antonio?" asked David McGee, CEO of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation.

"We're off to a great start, 189 days ago we hired our first person in San Antonio and now we have over 300," said Ben Smith, head of experience at Hulu.

Employees inside the Viewer Experience Operations Headquarters will hold jobs in customer support, network and broadcast operations, and software development.
