CONVERSE, Texas – A 30-year-old man is now in custody in connection to the slaying of a Converse 16-year-old.

The teen was killed around 1 p.m. on Sunday, according to Converse police. Officers were called to the Town Square Apartments after neighbors heard multiple gunshots.

The lifeless body of 16-year-old Reginald Adams was found in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the head. A red Dodge vehicle was seen leaving the scene. 

Police were able to track down the Dodge driver in a couple of hours. The driver identified as David Louis Martinez, 30, is believed to be responsible for Adams' death. Martinez was arrested around 7:12 p.m. and is now facing first-degree murder charges. 

Martinez had multiple court warrants out of Schertz, Texas. 

Investigators said they are looking for two more suspects. Adams reportedly lived at the apartment complex and police are pursuing all leads.

The murder weapon was recovered by Converse police who suspect it was stolen out of San Antonio.
