SAN ANTONIO - Planning for San Antonio's Tricentennial celebration has hit some snags including some shake-ups within the Tricentennial Commission.

District Six Councilman Greg Brockhouse has requested a full audit of the plan for San Antonio's 300th birthday celebration.

"This is about tax payer protection, making sure that we're putting our good money in there and we're getting a good return on our investments," said Brockhouse, "about protecting San Antonio. It's about fixing the problem and transparency and open government. We have to do it. This isn't our money. This belongs to the tax payers and those who have been generous enough to donate to the cause."

On Monday, Edward Benavides the man in charge of the Tricentennial celebration resigned. Assistant City Manager Carlos Contreras will serve as interim CEO.
