SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Texas -- A week after the deadly mass shooting, First Baptist Church returned to service.

Hundreds of chairs were placed under a large white tent at a baseball field in Sutherland Springs.

The front three rows were reserved for First Baptist members and their families. People from other churches dropped off presents such as prayer clothes and tiny wooden crosses. Mental health organizations provided tissues, offered counseling and therapy dogs at the service. Originally, the service was supposed to take place at a community center next door to First Baptist Church.

But plans changed when organizers realized nearly 500 people would attend the service.
