SAN ANTONIO -- A sewing circle of volunteers is stitching up what could be a world record for the largest blanket fort.

Each volunteer from the Downtown Rotary took part in sewing about 300 donated blankets.

The 5,500 square foot blanket fort will be built at Toyota Field as part of an Autism Uncovered event. Organizers say it sheds light on Austim with a touch of record-breaking fun.

"We want the community to understand that we need to support not just the ATC but the other organizations that are serving people with autism in our community,” said Cynthia Hamilton, Autism Treatment Center.

Hamilton said they're still short about 200 blankets to cover the fort. If you would like to donate, you can find more information on our website.
