AUSTIN, Texas - The City of Austin’s Public Information Office on Monday identified the woman killed in a crash in the area of East Cesar Chavez and an I-35 service ramp on Oct. 12.

The office said an investigation revealed a 1999 Ford van and a white 2016 Volkswagen station wagon were traveling northbound in the 100 block of East Frontage Road when they entered an intersection against a yellow light to turn left onto westbound East Cesar Chavez.

It was then that the van struck the station wagon. The driver of the van lost control of the vehicle and breached the raised curb, fatally striking Olin. The driver remained at the scene. There were two other injuries reported when the crash occurred.

The incident remains under investigation. Those with more information were asked to call Austin Police Department Vehicular Homicide Unit detectives at 512-974-4424.

This marked Austin's 51st fatal traffic crash and 53rd overall fatality in 2017.
