AUSTIN, Texas -- UT has received a more than $600,000 contract to help fight the opioid epidemic.

UT Austin’s Center for Health Communication will create a statewide campaign to promote a law requiring all pharmacies to report controlled substances dispensed by the next business day.

The campaign would promote the online program created to log and monitor prescription use.

The two-year contract covers developing and testing messaging with doctors and prescribers across the state.
