PORT ARANSAS, Texas - One crew member is dead and another is missing after their fuel barge caught on fire off the Texas coast.

Port Aransas spokesman Rick Adams confirmed the death and said the search continues for the other missing member. No identities have been released.

Capt. Bobby Grumbles of the Aransas-Corpus Christi Pilots Association said the explosion happened while a tug was pulling in anchor about 4:30 a.m. Friday about 3 miles from Port Aransas. There was no pilot on board when it exploded.

Adams said there was no hull breach on the barge loaded with about 133,000 barrels of crude oil.

The cause of the fire wasn't immediately known.
