SAN ANTONIO -- The budget conversation continues this week with a special meeting Tuesday.

City leaders will discuss the planning and neighborhoods portion of the budget at noon Tuesday and the tourism and entertainment portion Wednesday.

Just over $1 billion of the city's budget pays for basic services like public safety, infrastructure, parks, libraries, and code enforcement.

You can still join in the conversation over where the city's money should be spent.

There are two public input meetings this week. The first is Monday on the city's west side at the Normoyle Community and Senior Center.

The next meeting is Thursday on the south side at the Southside Lions and Community Center.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, city leaders will take up another hot-button issue.

Council is expected to vote on the collective bargaining agreement with the San Antonio Police Officer's Association.

If approved, the five-year-deal will end a long standoff between the city and police union.

The new agreement still gives officers free health care, though now they'll have to pay premiums for family members.

City leaders say the savings will allow the city to stay within its budget for public safety and allow for pay raises for officers.
