SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Morgan’s Wonderland is recognizing and honoring four-legged friends on National Therapy Animal Day.
Beginning Sunday, Morgan's Wonderland will give guests a chance to meet and interact with registered therapy dogs.
Therapy Animal Sundays will help visitors learn more about the incredible animals that are specially trained to help comfort and assist people in need.
"They're in a slot with a lot of other four-legged heroes. But, they're just in one those slots that can maybe change a person’s life just after five minutes. Maybe make a child smile that has not smiled in years," said Kelly Kenney with Delta Pet Partners of San Antonio.
Many dedicated dog handlers volunteer by visiting nursing homes and hospitals with their trained therapy dogs.
Morgan's Wonderland, which is completely wheelchair-accessible, features more than 25 elements and attractions including rides, playgrounds and gardens.
