SAN ANTONIO—Bexar County leaders are saying the county’s new digital library partnership with Joint Base San Antonio is the first of its kind in the Department of Defense.

On Monday, County Judge Nelson Wolff, Commissioner Kevin Wolff, and staff from the Bexar County BiblioTech presented 50 e-readers to the Keith A. Campbell Memorial Library at Fort Sam Houston.

In all, the county is providing 150 e-readers, a discovery terminal kiosk, and other digital resources to libraries at Fort Sam Houston, Randolph Air Force Base and Lackland Air Force Base. The service can be used anywhere. According to Judge Wolff, service members serving overseas can still use the BiblioTech resources wherever they are in the world.

Military service members and their dependents who have library privileges, can sign up for a free card to begin using online BiblioTech services. Joint Base San Antonio library staff will be trained by Bexar County’s staff.
