The Greater Aquifer Alliance is celebrating a $52,000 corporate gift.
Wells Fargo donated the money which will go towards a series of Community Rain Gardens.
The public/private partnership is designed to encourage low-impact new development to prevent flooding, while limiting storm water pollution.
"These low impact development features such as rain gardens, it's bio-engineered so the plants uptake a lot of the polution."
Work on the first of ten Community Rain Gardens is expected to begin this fall.
The University of Texas at San Antonio, the Greater Edwards Aquifer Authority, San Antonio River Athority and the City of San Antonio also are helping out with the project.
