The audio recording of the officer-involved shooting that killed a college student in San Antonio has been released.

The Alamo Heights Police Department chose to release the recording from the Cameron Redus shooting Thursday despite objections from the University of the Incarnate Word.

In that recording, you can hear Corporal Christopher Carter tell the 23-year-old Redus multiple times to stop resisting arrest:

Cpl. Carter: "Stop, stop! Stop or I will shoot you."

Redus: "You're going to f------ shoot me?"

Cpl. Carter: "Stop or I will shoot you."

Redus: "You are pathetic."

Cpl. Carter: "Stop."

Redus: "You're pathetic."

Cpl. Carter: "Stop."

Redus: "You're going to shoot me if I don't stop?"

Cpl. Carter: "Yes. Stop."

Redus: "Is that what cops do?"

Cpl. Carter: "Stop!"

Moments after that exchanged...you can hear muffled sounds and then six gunshots, which ended Redus's life.

The shooting happened in December 2013 near Redus' off-campus apartment.
Carter suspected Redus was driving while intoxicated.

Carter later resigned from the UIW police force and Tuesday a Grand Jury decided not to pursue criminal charges against him.

In a statement, UIW said in part, "We are confident that any objective listener will conclude Cpl. Carter acted properly."
