SAN ANTONIO -- The second of three community meetings at the Plaza Guadalupe was held Tuesday evening.

• Built in 1984, the public space has fallen out of popularity
• Main topic of discussion was the chain-link fence

Movie nights were announced for 'Selena' and 'The Black Panther', as requests from residents at the first community meeting regarding the space are already being met.

The main topic of discussion was the chain-link fence surrounding the Plaza. Some residents want to see it disappear altogether, while others are looking for it to be replaced with a more visibly-appealing option.

Previously the fence kept out all visitors, however, while it still stands, the Plaza is now open to the public daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A series of three community meetings are being held by the city and the company that holds the lease to the Plaza, Avenida Guadalupe Association, to find out what residents want to see happen both to the Plaza and at the Plaza.

Built in 1984, the public space has fallen out of popularity and needs renovations.
