With generous sunshine and a return of southerly winds, we're feeling a lot more comfortable out there through the day with forecast highs in the mid 60s.

Technically, that's still cooler than the normal high of 72 but no complaints!  This, after hitting a record cold low temp out at the Austin Airport for the second day in a row.  The official thermometer touched 27 around 5:30 a.m.  At Camp Mabry, the official metro low was 31.

Winds will be fairly light, coming from the south-southwest during the day.  Overhead, a stream of moisture from the Pacific could put some high clouds in the mix from time to time but the atmosphere is otherwise way too dry to support any precipitation...at least for now.

It'll be a cool start tomorrow, as well, with metro lows in the 40s and rural areas in the 30s.  Look for lots of sunshine for our Friday with highs near 70.

The forecast looks very similar for Saturday except for one thing:  clouds will begin to return in earnest by the time the Longhorns kickoff their game against Iowa State Saturday night.

Another polar cold front is on the docket to arrive during the morning to midday hours on Saturday, and it brings a 30% chance for showers.  We think most accumulations will be light.

Several disturbances will queue up and move through the Lone Star State next week, giving us a somewhat wet setup for Thanksgiving travel.  And long range models show yet another polar cold front trying to make it down to the Gulf Coast on the big holiday itself.  For now, we're calling it a 40% rain/storm chance on Wednesday then a 30% rain chance with 50s & 60s on Thursday.
