Thanks to yesterday's weak cold front, we're feeling pretty good out there with Central Texas temperatures running notably cooler than normal.  The typical (or 30 year average) high this time of year is 88, yet looks like our temps just barely make it above 80, if even.

Light northwest winds will keep the humidity levels fairly low as we enjoy this first full day of calendar fall, and with only a slim 20% chance for rain.  At sunrise, temperatures dipped into the 60s areawide to give us our coolest morning since August 4th with a low of 66 at the Austin Airport.  In town, Camp Mabry saw a low of 68.

High pressure is centered over Mexico and it's stabilized our atmosphere quite a bit.  Look for more peeks of sunshine as we get into the new work week, with a gradual warm-up back into the mid and upper 80s Monday.  Our forecast calls for Tuesday to be the warmest of the new week, with highs near or slightly over 90.

Then a bona fide cold front is scheduled to move into the picture on Wednesday, maybe with some rain in tow.  It'll be a 40% chance for showers & storms both Wednesday and Thursday as most of our computer models show this front stalling out nearby the I-10 corridor for a few days.  We'll expect daytime temps to drop back to low 80s for most areas during the second half of the week.
