So far, so wet this September!  The final days of calendar (or astronomical) summer look to include more sunshine and more warmth.  Today's forecast calls for a low 20% rain chance and afternoon highs in the low 90s.  The some showers look to return to our part of Texas later this week, setting the stage for a wetter transition to fall, which happens on Saturday, the autumnal equinox.

In metro Austin, we picked up another .09" yesterday to bring the monthly total up to a whopping 4.32", and some spots have seen much more, as we've been reporting.  Check out the LCRA Hydromet -- under the "Hydromet Data" dropdown, select "Rainfall - past 2 weeks."

Outside of some brief morning fog, Futurecast shows very little getting in our way when it comes to today's weather.  Expect more sunshine through partly to mostly sunny skies this afternoon.

Upper-level high pressure will strengthen over the Lone Star State tomorrow and Wednesday, stabilizing the atmosphere enough so that there's virtually no rain chance.  High temperatures will end up slightly warmer than our normal (30 year average) of 90 for this time of year.

By Thursday, the high pressure center is forecast to back off, allowing low pressure from the east to ease into the picture.  The atmosphere will be more unstable and ripe for more rain as soon as Thursday, but there's a better 30-40% chance for showers & storms Friday through Sunday.
