We have one more hot and hazy day before a storm system brings us more cloud cover and showers starting on the 4th of July.  Look for highs this afternoon from 100-104.

The clouds will increase tonight as temperatures drop to the mid to upper 70s.

Hazy sunshine will continue this afternoon as high pressure overhead keeps the area hot and dry.  We've had some dust traveling all the way from Africa across the Atlantic into the Lone Star state bringing us hazy skies.  Look for highs above 100 degrees.  So far we've had 13 days at at or above 100, but today should be the last triple digit day for at least a week.

An area low pressure moving westward through the Gulf of Mexico will bring scattered showers and a few thunderstorms for our 4th of July.  I wouldn't cancel your outdoor plans, but count on at least a 15 to 20 minute shower Wednesday.  Humidity levels will increase but temperatures will be down as we'll see more cloud cover and some rain cooled air.  Highs will be in the mid 90s for the Fourth.

High pressure that's kept us so hot and dry will back off to the north.  This will open up an easterly flow allowing for system to move from the Gulf of Mexico into the state bringing scattered showers and some thunderstorms for the rest of the week into the weekend.  High temperatures will be down as well.  Look for highs in the low to mid 90s later in the week into the up coming weekend.

Have a great day.
