While we don't expect as much weather excitement as we had around here on Sunday, a few raindrops could fall out there today.  Our forecast calls for a slim 20% rain/storm chance, with mostly to partly cloudy skies and highs near 90.

Futurecast shows showers blossoming between here and the coast, mostly east of I-35 and southeast of Austin.  Roads could turn slick for travelers, and any storms that develop could bring briefly heavy downpours along with lightning and strong winds.

The 20% chance will continue tomorrow, too, then upper-level high pressure looks to take over, squashing our rain chance and ensuring plenty of heat for the second half of the week.

Our normal high this time of year is 88, and we'll be well above it -- maybe by 10 degrees or so -- this upcoming holiday weekend.  Some of the first hundreds of the year could show up on area thermometers, and there will be plenty of bright sunshine through Memorial Day itself.  Make sure you have some shade and/or sunscreen, and plan to be indoors during the hottest part of the day, which is around 4 to 5 p.m.
