For the third day in a row, we expect Austin-area thermometers to make it up to 90 degrees and, thanks to rising humidity, we'll feel even more like summer through the rest of the week.

Southerly winds will get a bit gusty today then downright breezy tomorrow, with gusts around 20 mph, bringing in plenty of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico.  As a result, it might feel three to five degrees hotter than the actual temp...and that's in the shade.

As our bodies acclimate to the hotter weather, make sure you keep hydrated.  In fact, if you feel like you need a drink of water, dehydration is probably already setting in.  And, yes, if you're going to be outdoors for 20 minutes or more, sunscreen is recommended.  For maximum comfort, we also suggest you wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing as well as a wide-brimmed hat and sunshades.  Protect your body!

Our forecast calls for a bright and hot afternoon today then, after midnight tonight, we'll watch for a blanket of low clouds to appear.  It'll last for several hours through daybreak before clearing back out to sunshine for tomorrow afternoon.  We expect the repeating pattern of morning clouds to afternoon sun through Sunday.

By then, our next cold front will be knocking on the door.  Here at home, we've got a slim 20% rain chance on Sunday as well as Monday as the front arrives, which is currently timed for the morning hours.  Temps will only drop a few degress behind this front, we think.

So how much rain might we get?  The latest models are now downplaying the event compared to what we saw just 24 hours ago, with NOAA's 7 day rain outlook now suggesting potential for only a mere 1/10th of an inch.  Of course, we still have time for this to change.  Join us for more on 'Weather on the 1s' on TV or the live stream.
