A day that started gray turned bright by noon.  A dry flow in the upper atmosphere has filtered down to the surface to scour out the clouds and burn off the fog.  Central Texas will enjoy several days of sunshine and dry weather from now through Easter Sunday.

Afternoon temperatures will return to the 80s with the sunny sky and the a dry southwest to west flow.  A cold front arrives during the afternoon shifting to the winds to come from the northwest.  The front comes through dry.  It will be a little chilly in the morning.  Seasonably mild temperatures are forecast for Good Friday.

The weekend will be calm with warm air.  Most highs Saturday will be in the lower 80s, dropping to the upper 70s to around 80 Easter Sunday.  The area will see scattered clouds Sunday afternoon.

Easter Sunday sunrise will be at 7:20.  At that time expect a partly cloudy sky with a south wind near 10 mph.

Rain returns Monday followed by a chance of thunderstorms Tuesday with the next cold front.

More on this is found on your 7 Day Forecast.

Mold and oak were high in today's Austin pollen count.  Expect the oak pollen to remain high through the weekend.  Mold counts should drop by Saturday or Sunday.

Several reporting stations in Central Texas had between 3 and 5 inches of rain from Tuesday night through early this morning.  There were a couple of rain gauges in our area that saw totals exceed six inches.  You can see a complete list of the rain totals from the Lower Colorado River Authority.

Austin-Mabry measured 3.28" Wednesday, a daily and March record.  The previous record for March 28 was 3.26" in 2006.  The month will end with a nice surplus.  Austin-Bergstrom's rain total yesterday was 5.99".  The previous record for the day was 1.86" in 2006.  With 6.21" in the bucket for March this is now the third wettest March on record.

Have a good day.
