It's a notably warmer start across Central Texas this morning, all thanks to higher humidity, and we'll feel those southerly winds really pick up the pace out there today.  Our forecast calls for mostly to partly sunny skies with highs near 80.

Get out there and enjoy some sunshine today!  As the moisture from the Gulf of Mexico continues to increase, plan on seeing much more cloud cover over the next several days.  Southeast winds should pick up to around 10 to 15 mph sustained with gusts near 20 mph at times through tomorrow.

A weak cold front will move through North Texas this weekend but with little to no impact on our local area.  Daytime temperatures will continue to rise into the low and mid 80s Saturday and Sunday.  While we can't rule out any drizzle or light showers during the next several days, especially in the overnight to morning hours, yet we really don't expect much measurable rain through Monday.  NOAA calls for only 1/10" of an inch, at best, during that time frame.

We could certainly use the rain!  Austin's gone 19 days now since last picking up 1/10th of an inch or better, and our 2018 deficit is now close to four inches in total.

Next Tuesday through Thursday, a slow-moving upper-air disturbance is forecast to move across the Desert SW all while a weak front drifts across the Lone Star State.  According to what we see on the latest computer models, and factoring in historical perspective, these two features could combine to bring very heavy rain to parts of Texas.  Stay tuned as we monitor for what could be a flash flood event.  From Tuesday through Thursday, NOAA predicts widespread 1.5" to 2"+ totals in our area with the bullseye of 4"+ northeast of the DFW Metroplex.
