For many in the northeast it's a day of digging out from another nor'easter.  If you're unfamiliar with the term a nor'easter is a storm and/or wind blowing from the northeast.  They are most common in New England but this latest one impacted central Pennsylvania and southeast New York with snow totals of more than one foot.

Bay Shore, New York is on Long Island.  This is where the most snow was measured ... 19.3".  Very close behind was Islip's Long Island MacArthur Airport with 18.4".

The state capitol of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, had the most snow measured in the Keystone State with 14.2".  Nearby York also had more than one foot of snow ... 14.0".

The storm affected the Ohio Valley as well.  Louisville, KY recorded 8.6".

At some of the more populated cities in the northeast, New York City, and specifically Central Park, measured 8.2".  It's the first time a late March/April snow storm yielded more than one-half foot of snow since March 19, 1992.  Down the road, Philadelphia picked up 7.6".  Philly's International Airport had not seen that much snow during the early spring season since 19.4" in April 1915.  Finally, in our nation's capitol, Washington had 4.3" on the ground making March 21 the heaviest snow of this winter/early spring season.

The snow changed over to rain in Boston early this afternoon.  Only lingering snow was seen on radar in far eastern Maine.

Some of the best weather in the country today was found right here in our backyards.
