The quiet weather pattern continues for a third day with a sunny to partly cloudy sky.  Upper-level winds from the northwest are sending in mostly dry air although some cirrus clouds were noted this morning.  Present trends show these clearing out during this afternoon.

Today's normal high is 74.  Most highs today will peak in the middle to upper 70s.  Temperatures will warm to the 80s for the weekend.  Surface winds are coming from the south to southeast with some speeds in double digits this afternoon.  Higher wind speeds are likely tomorrow and Friday.

An area of upper-level low pressure will move from the Pacific Northwest to the southern Rockies between Friday and the middle of next week.  Low rain chances are in the Friday to Monday forecast (10 to 20%) but go up as the upper low gets closer to Texas.  For now, the outlook calls for a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday.  In addition, one Future Rain model shows that by March 28 rain totals of .25" to .50" will be possible.   There is no doubt that any rain will be welcomed no matter when it falls because of the deficits that continue to grow.

Perhaps the only element that bars this from being a perfect weather day is the number of tree pollens that continue to cause some of you problems.  Oak is dominant again today.  It will remain in HIGH numbers for the rest of the week and weekend.

Have a good day.
