Let's begin this blog with some good news.  Temperatures returned to the 50s at 10 this morning.  Further warming will continue for the rest of today with some area highs expected to reach the low 60s.  Afternoon wind come from the east to southeast at many stations.  Wind speeds will be less than 10 mph.

A good deal of moisture is sitting over Central Texas today.  Dense fog has been a problem all morning.  Though there is NO Dense Fog Advisory at this time, fog will continue for much of the day and again tonight through Saturday morning.

A warm front will continue to drift north, exiting out of Bell County this evening.  A warmer southeast to south wind will keep temperatures warmer than normal Saturday morning with readings expected to range from the mid/upper 50s to low 60s.  The normal lows are in the upper 40s.  There will be another chance for mostly showers with a few thunderstorms overnight through Saturday morning.

The next cold front arrives Saturday.  A southwest wind ahead of the front will help push some temperatures to around 70 by noon.  The front has dry Pacific air behind it along with a northwest wind.  It should reach I-35 between 1 and 3.  All of this moisture should be swept out to, hopefully, give us some much-needed sunshine and a pretty sunset.  Highs Saturday will peak in the low to mid 70s.

Sunday and Monday should be dry.  Showers and thunderstorms return Tuesday and Wednesday.

Your 7 Day Forecast has more numbers.

This has been a good week for rain with many reporting stations reporting more than one inch ... and some with more than two inches.  The Lower Colorado River Authority has a comprehensive list for your review.

Over the next few days the mold counts will be in moderate to high numbers.  Most tree pollens are forecast to low to moderate.  If anything, by Sunday/Monday there may be some higher elm counts.
