The latest batch of showers and storms fired up around 5 o'clock just south of Austin, perfectly timed to dampen yet another commute!  You'll need jackets, umbrellas and likely some extra patience when it comes to travel again out there today with an overall 70% rain chance.  That said, we expect most of the storms during the morning hours then less activity during the afternoon.  Temperatures will mostly be in the 40s to near 50.

Latest computer models show another round of storms firing up tonight, so we'll keep the 70% rain chance going after dark.  A surge of warm southerly wind will move in during the day tomorrow, allowing comfort to return as temperatures rise back up to near 70.  It's a 60% rain/storm chance on Friday with what, again, looks like mostly morning activity.

But don't put away the umbrellas just yet:  another very weak cold front is timed to arrive during the day Saturday with a 50% chance for more showers & storms.  This front originates from the Pacific and will bring little impact on our temperatures.  After rising to mid 70s on Saturday, highs on Sunday will likely be in the upper 60s.  The rain chance will drop significantly for the second half of the weekend.  Between now and then, additional accumulations of around a half inch to an inch look possible.

The most uplifting part of this forecast?  We're calling for abundant sunshine on Sunday and Monday.  Make plans to get outdoors then!
