Temperatures made it all the way up to the upper 70s yesterday with a definite feel of spring.  After starting on a warm note this morning with some fog and a high near 70, a polar cold front sweeps through before lunch, bringing a drop in temperatures for the afternoon.  There's also a slim but noted 20% chance for a few brief showers.

Sustained northerly winds will range from 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts this afternoon and early evening, then winds should gradually diminish after sunset.  If you have late night plans, be sure to grab a jacket as it'll amount to a wind chill factor in the 40s then 30s.  On the thermometer, we'll likely end up in the mid to upper 40s to start Saturday then rise up to near 60 for the afternoon high.

If you regularly follow the forecast (which is highly recommended, of course,) you'll note a slight drop in our local rain chance this weekend compared to just a few days ago.  The odds have dropped to 40% for both Saturday and Sunday.  Although we might still hear a few rumbles of thunder, it's looking less likely.  A stream of Pacific moisture is taking aim a little further north with most of the precip along the I-20 corridor across North Texas.  Embedded in that flow, a weak disturbance will help to kick off some showers and possible storms late tonight through early tomorrow with impact on travel.

The polar cold front is expected to stall out south of I-10 through tomorrow, then surge back to the north as a warm front on Sunday.  Southerly winds will help us warm back up to near 70 Sunday afternoon, then we'll get closer to 80 for President's Day on Monday...also with a rain chance.

A decent chance for showers continues next week, including possible storms on Tuesday and Wednesday as yet another cold front tries to come this way with a cool down for the middle of the week.
