Freezing temperatures are out of the forecast for at least the next week. Already the lower atmosphere is undergoing transition to a much warmer, moister pattern. For Friday, this will bring cloudy skies and a few light showers to South Central Texas. Look for highs near 50 (near 60 Hill Country) with a 20% chance of light rain or sprinkles.

Friday night the warm moist air sweeps away the last of the chill. We’ll see some sprinkles with lows falling to the middle 40s. Clouds persist Saturday morning with a few lingering sprinkles.

Saturday afternoon brings high pressure overhead that will clear skies and push temperatures into the 70s. Partly cloudy conditions prevail Saturday afternoon with a few showers east of I-35. Low clouds and sprinkles form overnight into Sunday morning. Temperatures warm Sunday afternoon to the low 70s before a Pacific cold front arrives late in the day. This will produce some showers and a few thunderstorms along and east of i-35 into Sunday evening. The system will be fast-moving so no heavy rain is expected.

Windy and cooler conditions start the new workweek, but temperature ranges will be near normal and no freezes are expected.
