An upper-level pattern featuring high pressure across the western US will keep South Central Texas cool and dry through the holiday weekend. Morning lows in the low 50s Friday will rise to the middle 70s in the afternoon. High clouds will drift overhead for mostly sunny skies.

Saturday will see south winds and slightly warmer temperatures across the region. Late in the afternoon, another cold front will sweep through with winds turning back to the north. But no rain is expected locally, with only a few scattered showers over the coastal plains.

The rest of the weekend features cool mornings and mild afternoons with dry conditions. Thanksgiving return travel should be unaffected by strong storms nationally. Temperatures should be seasonable nationwide.
