UVALDE COUNTY, Texas -- Newly released court papers show the pickup truck driver who collided head-on with a church bus last month killing 13 people had taken prescription medicine and had marijuana in his truck.

Court records show state troopers found five partially smoked and two whole joints in Jack Young's truck after the crash.

An affidavit also said Young told a trooper that he had taken prescription medicine including the anxiety drug clonazepam, as well as generic forms of the antidepressant Lexapro and the sedative Ambien.

These reports come on top of an eyewitness who claims that, just after the crash, Young said he was texting at the time of the crash. Young and one person from the bus were the only survivors from the wreck near Uvalde County.

A witness to the crash has said Young told him he was texting while driving. No charges have been filed in the crash.
