Asal Rezaei joined the Spectrum News team in June 2017 as a reporter for the Greensboro newsroom.
Asal comes from anchoring and reporting for an NBC affiliate in Arizona.
An Iranian native, Asal was born in Germany and moved to United States as a young girl. With her international background, much of her family is still overseas in Europe and the Middle East.
Before spending two years on the Arizona/California/Mexico border, Asal interned at WGN in Chicago with award-winning television host and anchor Paul Lisnek on his weeknight show- "Politics Tonight."
She graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in broadcast journalism.
In 2012, Asal was chosen to cover the 12th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates in Chicago where she captured intriguing interviews with panel members that included past presidents and scholars.
In the early years of Asal's broadcast career she produced and hosted her own radio show- "The Weekly Strange" at Richland College in Dallas, Texas, which aired weekly on KDUX web radio.
Asal is happy to be on the East Coast where she hopes to spend the rest of her career. She is currently living in downtown Greensboro with her cat, Sox.
