AUSTIN, Texas — A federal judge has overruled President Trump’s efforts to end the popular DACA program. This time, the judge says the government has to accept new applications.

The D.C. based district judge is giving the Department of Homeland Security 90 days to “better explain its view” that DACA is unlawful. After that, the judge says DHS must accept new as well as renewal DACA applications.

The move follows similar decisions from judges in New York and San Francisco. The program protects immigrants from deportation who came to the U.S. illegally as children. No court has found DACA to be unconstitutional.
