SAN ANTONIO -- - With the help of the community, SAMMinistries will be bring holiday cheer to homeless children in need on Saturday.

SAMMinistries is anticipating close to 140 volunteers, both individuals and groups to help wrap nearly 3,000 gifts for homeless children throughout the city.

Among the organizations set to participate are Nationwide, The Hartford, IBC Employee Advisory Board, and Firstmark Credit Union. Additionally, a number of students and local congregation members are expected to help wrap gifts for the kids.

“Christmas can be a tough time of year for the families we serve. It is the heartfelt generosity of our volunteers that help make Christmas morning extra special for children in our program,” SAMMinistries President and CEO Navarra Williams said.

Volunteers from across the city will be help wrap gifts at the SAMMinistries Transitional Living and Learning Center during two shift opportunities from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“Every child deserves to have a gift on Christmas morning and we are very grateful to all helping us serve these families during the Holidays,” Williams said.
