If the forecast pans out as it looks now, much of Texas might receive more than a normal December's amount of rainfall all in one day, this Friday.

Plan for messy travel conditions as we wrap up the week, all thanks to the arrival of a polar cold front and a large Pacific disturbance.

Our forecast shows the two coming together during the day on Friday and the results could be quite nasty on area roadways, especially after dark.

In the above video, Chief Meteorologist Burton Fitzsimmons shows several computer model predictions of how much rain might fall and where it might be cold enough to turn it all into ice and/or snow.

In scenarios like this, we always invite you to check back for updates as the forecast could change quite a bit between now and then.  We'll have the very latest updates on Spectrum News with our 'Weather on the 1s' reports every 10 minutes on TV or the live stream.  Check out the main weather homepage for more.
