SAN ANTONIO – Over 20,000 people from around the world participated in the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon over the weekend.
- People from across 50 states and 27 countries
- Olympians and Boston Marathon Champions participated
- Local bands played along the route
Children, adults, and groups of all kinds from across 50 states and 27 countries landed in San Antonio for the marathon.

Participants had the option to run in a 5k or 10k on Saturday. On Sunday, there was a marathon, half marathon and two-person half marathon relay.
“it’s very inspiring to see them go and see all the faces,” Rick Rodriguez, husband of a runner, said.
Among the runners were two-time Olympian Kara Goucher, American Boston Marathons Champions Meb Keflezighi and Des Linden.
Local bands played along the course, including local Tejano group, Grupo Cielo and a Mariachi Mile. Langhorne Slim & The Law played live at the finish festival.

Many nonparticipants were inspired by the runners.
“It’s both inspiring and I feel guilty for not doing it myself. So that’s the truth.” Chris Raba, supporter of a runner, said.
