The APD sent out an email to Downtown Austin Alliance about three men who are suspected of pickpocketing in bars and nightclubs in Nashville last weekend. Police say they booked flights to Austin and arrived on Thursday.

This notification is just for situational awareness for those who have plans in the area this weekend.

The Downtown Austin Alliance notified hundreds of businesses and property owners in the area so they are also on alert.

"We work very closely with the Austin Police Department on a regular basis, but the nature of this email was slightly different," said Matt Macioge, Operation Director, Downtown Austin Alliance. "It's not often that the Austin Police Department asks us to send something that is a suspected nature."

To keep your belongings safe, leave all valuables at home and take what you need only.
