  • A woman fled the scene in a tan car
  • Northbound I-35 closed just before U.S. 183

According to police, at 1:45 p.m. they were called to a Shell Gas Station for a robbery and assault. They say a black male and a white female robbed a person. The man fled on foot and the woman fled in a tan car.

Police spotted the man asked him to stop, but the man refused and ran away. He then ran onto the interstate and hit a tractor-trailer and died.

Police say the person who was the target of the robbery was punched in the face, but is OK.

Northbound I-35 closed just before U.S. 183. Drivers should expect delays. Avoid the area if possible.

Police say the tractor-trailer did not stop but they say the driver may not have known he hit the man.
