AUSTIN, Texas – Just days before Thanksgiving, H-E-B is inviting locals to break bread for the annual Feast of Sharing.

Holiday meals are provided to families across Texas. The meal also features music, art, crafts, and activities for children.

Feast serves:

  • 3,000 pounds of turkey
  • 2,500 pounds of cornbread dressing
  • 750 pumpkin pies
  • 380 gallons of mashed potatoes
  • 140 gallons of gravy

The event is in Austin at the Palmer Events Center on 900 Barton Springs Rd. from 4 to 8 p.m.

Austin is one of H-E-B's many stops for the Feast of Sharing. The feast will head to San Antonio on December 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Henry B Gonzales Convention Center.

Austin police are volunteering at the 29th annual feast. Austin Mayor Steve Adler will also attend the event and serve food.

"It’s an honor to serve our community at this cheerful event. This event was created by community business partners and built on compassion, with the goal of fighting hunger," said Austin Police Chief Brian Manley.
