SAN ANTONIO – The Tejano Music Awards were held on Saturday night at the San Antonio Convention Center and 11-year-old Mia Garcia was among the winners list.

In August, Garcia, a 6th grader, was nominated for the award.

Garcia was the youngest artist ever to be nominated for a Tejano Music award.
Her success has been on an upward path in the past year.
In honor of her Austin roots, last year Mayor Steve Adler proclaimed October 5 to be Mia Garcia Day as a way to celebrate her commitment to music.
She posted to Facebook giving thanks to God for her win.
