BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A motorcyclist is in custody after he fled from deputies and led them on a chase before crashing late Thursday night.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 23-year-old motorcyclist around 11:15 p.m. in New Braunfels. The motorcyclist did not stop and sped off, leading deputies on a downtown chase.

The chase ended in a crash at a dead end on West Elsmere. The motorcyclist tried to run away from the crash, but was captured and Tased by deputies. He was found in possession of narcotics and a handgun.

Deputies will charge him with evading police, possession of narcotics, and unlawful carry of a gun.
