AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police have arrested a man in connection to a homicide.
According to police, a 911 caller at 12:33 p.m. Tuesday told officers a person was either shot or stabbed at 10230 Norwood Park Blvd.
Police and EMS arrived to find Tony Huggins lying on the parking lot ground with a penetrating wound. Nearby citizens had already begun CPR before EMS took over. Despite their best efforts, Huggins was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Austin police quickly established a crime scene and started talking to witnesses. Homicide detectives determined that a shooting occurred during an illegal drug transaction.
The Travis County Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Huggins on Wednesday, November 7, and ruled it a homicide.
On November 7, police arrested Isaac Thomas for an unrelated charge in Bastrop County and he is currently booked into the Bastrop County Jail.
On November 8, Austin police filed a capital murder arrest warrant on Thomas. He remains in custody with no bond.
