TEXAS – Among the 50 states and the District of Columbia, Texas ranks 10th on the list of fattest states in the county.

The Wallethub analysis, released Tuesday, compared three dimensions: obesity and overweight prevalence, health consequences, and food and fitness.

Texas ranked ninth in obesity, 39th in health consequences and eight in food and fitness.

"According to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than seven in 10 U.S. adults aged 20 and older are either overweight or obese. Rates are lower for children and adolescents but have risen drastically in the past few decades," Wallethub stated.

Texas also ranked second for the highest percent of obese children in the country, behind Mississippi, which was the fattest state overall.

Wallethub also ranked most popular comfort food by state. Brisket won Texas.
