The community is encouraged to join her in honoring the victims.

The run will begin at the Comanche Park Trailhead, 2618 Risby Ave at 6 a.m. It will continue along County Road 87 and end at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs.

Throughout the run, Reyes will carry a Texas flag adorned with 26 white ribbons with the names and ages of each victim. The ribbons were hand-created by her students.

“People have asked if this is a group run or just me. This is all me,” Reyes said. “I will need all the love, support and prayer as I run and carry the spirit of the Sutherland Springs community.”
