AUSTIN, Texas — We've all seen the I Voted stickers, but what about yard signs?

Texas is notorious for poor voter turnout, and was dead last in the country during midterm elections.

The the Allendale All Star Voting Project hopes to change that.

They've made yard signs that read, I voted. Did you?

During early voting, volunteers are getting permission from homeowners to place a yard sign once they cast their ballot.

“I got the idea of, well, if they see their neighbors are voting and they're talking about voting, then maybe they'll be more likely to vote," Bob Hendricks, with the Allendale All Star Voting Project said.

Students at nearby Gullett Elementary helped decorate the signs, and teachers used the project to educate students about civic responsibility.
